3 Years Passes Quickly

Today, July 29th, is our 3rd wedding anniversary. We can scarcely believe that 3 years ago we stood before God and His Church to become husband and wife. I had always thought we would have children by now. In the Rite of Marriage, you answer 3 special questions, the last of which is, "Will you accept children lovingly from God, and bring them up according to the law of Christ and His Church?" Both of us answered this question "we will" with a smile. Little did we know that 3 years later we would still be open to children but have none of our own. However, we can definitely attest to God's help in keeping us true to each other in good times and in bad. The longer we wait for children, the more our marriage can grow.

Today is also another milestone: we have filled out our application to adopt from South Korea! We just because eligible today, as that country requires couples to be married at least 3 years. While we still hope to conceive a child, adoption is a new and exciting journey. :)

Happy Anniversary! You two look really happy. Everytime my dh and I watch our wedding video and the priest asks us the question about accepting children lovingly from God...we look at each other, roll our eyes and laugh. I guess God didn't hear or us or something. I'm Kidding...we felt His presence that day as did others. HE heard and probably felt sad for He knew the cross we would bare. I hope you two have a great day and good luck with the Sth. Korean adoption. Do you have to go there to pick up your child or does the agency send a rep to bring the child back to you? I've heard that they have changed the laws. Just curious. One couple in our church have adopted 2 babies from Korea...and both times they went there. Not sure if they did that by choice. May God bless you for opening your hearts and home to adoption. Blessings!!

I know there is a child out there, whether in South Korea or yet to be conceived that God has destined to be yours. We will keep both of you in our prayers during this journey. Congratulations on 3 wonderful years together. We have enjoyed being part of it and especially love having Mark as part of our family.
